Black Belt Examinations at the West Ryde Dojo
A Day of Dedication, Honor, and Growth
On Saturday, June 28th, a memorable day took place at the West Ryde Dojo in Sydney, under the attentive and passionate guidance of Master Alan Campbell. It was an important event for the traditional Ju Jitsu community: the Black Belt, 2nd Dan, and 3rd Dan grading examinations.
The entire day was marked by an atmosphere of focus and respect, as students—serious and dedicated—demonstrated not only their technical skills on the tatami, but also the deep martial spirit that drives their journey. Every technique performed, every kata, and every moment of combat told a story of effort, perseverance, and passion.
Great credit also goes to the instructors, whose professionalism, patience, and discipline have guided the students to this significant milestone. Their daily work—often quiet and behind the scenes—was clearly reflected in the excellent preparation and determination shown by all the candidates.
Master Alan Campbell expressed his great satisfaction with the level reached by the practitioners, emphasizing that these examinations do not mark an endpoint, but rather a new beginning on the path of Budo—a journey of continuous growth, in service of tradition and the values of Ju Jitsu.
Heartfelt congratulations to all those who passed, for a result born of constant effort and strong will. May this success serve as inspiration for all the students of the Dojo and for anyone who walks the path of Ju Jitsu with a sincere heart.
The West Ryde Dojo once again confirms itself as a point of reference for the authentic practice of traditional Ju Jitsu in Australia, thanks to the leadership of Master Campbell and the commitment of a united and motivated martial community.
